Top 10 Breakfast/Brunch Spots in Charlotte

A bangin’ breakfast in the morning really hits the spot, and luckily, Charlotte has its fair share of eateries that deliver just that. From quick, casual joints to insta-worthy locations, here are my top 10 breakfast/brunch places in Charlotte and what to order at each of them!

1. Mal Pan: South Park

Blue corn pancakes with blueberry compote, breakfast tacos, and a mezcal margarita—yes, please! This eclectic cafe has all the right menu offerings in a hip setting. I love sitting out on their patio in the warm weather.

2. Haberdish: NoDa

One of the best brunch spots I’ve been to in any city, Haberdish knows how to do southern staples and how to do them well! Chow down on the Cinnamon Roll (complete with dulce caramel dip!), the Chicken Biscuit, and the Chicken and Waffles. Their service is true southern hospitality, as well!

3. El Toro Bruto: South End

You might not even know this little taco shop is tucked inside the South End Resident Culture, but they make the best breakfast tacos. You must try the Chorizo Taco, Egg, Cheese & Potato Taco, and the Barbacoa Taco. Grab a beer from the brewery while you’re at it!

4. Easy Like Sunday: Montford

Definitely add this place to your list if you haven’t been! The Fried Chicken and Cornmeal Pancakes are where it’s at. They’re served with maple butter and peach habanero jam—unique and totally delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

5. Snooze, an A.M. Eatery: South End, South Park & Plaza Midwood

Two words—pancake flight. It’s basically the best invention ever. Order the Signature Pancake Flight, and you’ll have zero regrets. It comes with Pineapple Upside Down, Blueberry Danish, and Sweet Potato pancakes, and it’s even available gluten free!

6. Flying Biscuit Café: Montford

This joint has an expansive menu, including southern staples, as well as vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. My favorite order is the High Flyer because you get chicken sausage, eggs, grits, a buttermilk pancake, and a “fluffy flying biscuit”—the perfect mixture of sweet and salty!

7. Barcelona Wine Bar: South End

The food and aesthetic here are both 10/10. The Spanish-style tapas are phenomenal and so fun to share with a group. Try the Olive Oil Pancakes, Torrijas, Bacon Wrapped Dates, and Patatas Bravas. Basically, you can’t go wrong with any of their tapas. I also love their Guns & Rosés Sangria and charcuterie offerings!

8. The Good Wurst Co: South End, Plaza Midwood, & Mountain Island

This casual spot is best known for their sausages and smoked meats, but they also serve up my absolute favorite bagel sandwiches in Charlotte. They’re consistent and delicious. My go-to is an Everything Bagel with Bacon, Egg, Gruyere Cheese, and Jalapeño Cream Cheese. It’s SO good!

9. Café Monte: South Park

For the Parisian palate, this is the place to be! It’s perfect for birthday brunches or as a date spot. I love the Benedict Monte—a croissant topped with smoked ham, eggs, tomato, asparagus, and hollandaise.

10. Little Spoon: Selwyn

This cute little eatery is the ideal date spot. Their rotating menu has something for everyone, whether you’re a sweet or a savory breakfast person. I really enjoy the Hashed Bowl, which comes with potatoes, egg, onions, peppers, and chicken sausage—yum!

Okay, now that I’m craving everything on this list, I’m going to have to visit one or two of these places this weekend. Happy brunching!
